The Story of the LOMPOC

While on passage in the North Sea, the LOMPOC was torpedoed and damaged twice, first by UB 34 on 21 April 1918 and, second, by UB 77 on 28 August 1918. On both occasions, Captain John R. Williams, Porthmadog, brought the vessel safely in to port. For this he was awarded a Certificate of Commendation.
