People in Beatrice and Annie Cummings' art works

Among the sisters Beatrice and Annie Cummings' collection of artworks are a small number of paintings and drawings of people; some observed on location, such as the picture of young relatives playing on the beach at Towyn and others drawn as simple portraits and sketches. Also included in this collection are pictures of their brothers, Sidney and Wilfred, sitting on the sand dunes in Barmouth. This was the first time that both sisters attempted to paint the same subject matter. The clothes and hairstyles of those depicted in this collection are typical of those worn in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
