Lily Tobias (1887-1984)
Lily Tobias was born into a Jewish family in Swansea. She was a writer, and an activist for labour rights and women's suffrage. She was a Zionist and supported the creation of a Jewish national home in Palestine. In the 1930s, she emigrated to Palestine. She wrote four novels, several short stories and a dramatic adaptation of George Eliot's novel Daniel Deronda.
