Collection of artistic works relating to Newport Wetlands, Kenfig Reserve and Castlemartin by Artstation, 2025

These photos and films represent the immersive work of artists Glenn Davidson & Anne Hayes: Artstation, who researched the sounds and foraging habitat of the endangered Shrill Carder Bee (Bombus Sylvarum).

A pop up installation, during the winter, brought back the soundscape from the summer and the intense colours of the flowers on which they depend. The work included listening to a recorded soundscape with poetry by Phillip Gross.

These engagement sessions were held at RSPB Newport Wetlands in the Gwent Levels. This work was commissioned as part of the Natur Am Byth! project by Natural Resources Wales in conjunction with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

About: Glenn Davidson & Anne Hayes: Artstation are visual artists working in a social sphere drawing aspiration from the twin imperatives of social justice and ecological emergency.
