Charles Williams Church in Wales School, Caerleon, ex-pupil Rosalie Davies, 1941 to early 1950s
Rosalie Davies attended Charles Williams Church in Wales Primary school, then called Caerleon Endowed, from c.1941 to c. 1952. In school, her least favourite subject was arithmetic and her favourite activities included writing, sewing and singing. When Rosalie was in the school, the secondary school was also onsite. In the early 1940s, the compulsory school age in the United Kingdom was aged 5 to 14, but following the Education Act of 1944, this went up to 15, effective from 1 April 1947, so Rosalie will have remained in school until she turned fifteen.
