Ceredigion Women's Institute Oral Histories
This is a collection of storied by various members of the Women's Institute in Ceredigion.
Ceredigion -
a small county on the west coast of Wales overlooking Cardigan Bay with its abundance of sandy beaches, fishing villages and university towns. It has a strong agricultural community with bilingualism being the norm.
Inland the forestry's and Cambrian hills add to the splendour allowing wild-life and native breeds of livestock to enrich our vast area of countryside. We are a federation of 47 WIs with a membership of approximately 900. Women of all ages come together to enjoy the friendship and challenges of many and varied activities from computer classes to new age kurling, singing for joy, archiving, craft and floral art classes, coastal path walking, treasure hunts and quizzes and always a fever for campaigning on burning issues.
