Hugh Jones was the Captain of the steamship HEATHPARK. The ship was carrying a cargo of ore from Bilbao to Maryport when she was torpedoed in the Bay of Biscay by U 91 under the command of Alfred von Glasenapp on 5 October 1918. There were no survivors among the crew of 18. Captain Jones's body was the only one recovered from the sea and he was buried at Bilbao.
