The Welsh Horse Photo Album
The Welsh Horse Album is a volume of thirty two military portraits. The album was compiled as a gift to Alderman J. Robinson. The inscription on the inside of the album reads: ‘To Alderman J Robinson from all ranks of the Welsh Horse as a small return for many kindnesses during the raising of the regiment. August 1914’ The portraits are signed ‘H. J. Whitlock & sons Ltd, Cardiff’. The Welsh Horse Yeomanry regiment was formed in August 1914 under the administration of the Glamorgan Territorial Force Association and headquartered in Cardiff (Sophia Gardens). Later in 1914 it moved to Newtown and was transferred to the Montgomeryshire Territorial Force Association and by early 1915 it had moved to the market town of Diss in Norfolk. The album was donated to Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales Library in 1932. Library accession number: 30109

So pleased this has been uploaded - I would never had found it otherwise. Now heading off to view the original in Cardiff!
