Great to find a photo of this ship. SS David Dawson was named after my Great Grandfather whilst she was owned by my Great Uncle's shipping firm, Frank S Dawson Ltd, (as Jubilee Steam Navigation Co. Ltd) of Midland Bank Chambers, Bute St, Cardiff. She was only under his ownership from 1935-1936 so this photo must be from that period, more likely 1935 as she was then purchased by Whitwill Mark & Son, of Bristol, (as Avon SS Co.Ltd) in 1936 and renamed Avon River. She had a very short life with them, as she was wrecked when she ran aground in the Hudson Bay in September, 1936.
