The staff of a Welshpool grocer's shop, 1890s

Description

A formal photograph of the staff of the Jubilee Household Supply Stores in the 1890s. This was the grocery business of Edward Wyke at 47, High Street, Welshpool, and presumably Mr Wyke is the gentleman with the impressive moustache in the doorway. His firm made wedding, fruit, and sultana cakes to order, and all orders were executed with despatch, or so it claimed in his advertisements.
