The Promenade by the River Usk, Brecon, 1900s

Description

A postcard view from the early 1900s of the Promenade in Brecon, an attractive tree-lined riverside walk along the banks of the River Usk. This view is looking east towards the early sixteenth century Buckingham Tower of St Mary's Church. An early nineteenth century guide to Brecknock praised its 'delightful walks', including ' the one traced on the margin of the noble Usk..'
