Description

A portrait of Rose Mary Crawshay taken by her husband Robert Crawshay, of the Cyfartha ironworks dynasty, in the 1870s. Rose took a great deal of interest in many aspects of contemporary culture, and guests at Cyfartha Castle included Robert Browning, Emerson, Henry Irving, Charles Darwin, and Robert Owen.
