Bridge builders at Welshpool, 1900

Description

Workers employed on the rebuilding of the Severn Street bridge over the Montgomery canal at Welshpool in 1900. The old bridge had steep gradients on either side which caused problems for the horse-drawn traffic of the time. The project provided jobs for a substantial number of men.
