The High Street, Newtown, 1880s

Description

The17th century Buck Inn can be seen on the left. The buildings at the head of the street were replaced in 1898 by the Cross Building, which included a bank and an imposing clock tower, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
