John does not believe that he will be writing from here again for a while as he has heard from the Colonel that they will be starting for Cincinnati on Saturday morning. He writes that he was in a 'sham batle' yesterday.

He is pleased that everyone at home is asking after him but says that he doesn't miss anything except for the Chapel.
