Wales and the League of Nations 1931-1932

Description

The 1931-1932 annual report of the Executive Committee to the Welsh National Council of the League of Nations Union. The report referenced the ‘considerable difficulty’ due to events in national and international spheres (p. 6); an article on the dispute between China and Japan highlights the escalation of international events (pp. 10- 14). Considerable column space is given to the World Disarmament Conference (WDC) in Geneva which opened in February 1932, for which a memorial campaign was supported by over 1,000 churches Wales-wide and presented at the opening of the WDC - see pages 14-16, 47 and 54-57. The report concludes with a discussion of ‘Wales and the World’ by Gwilym Davies (p. 52- 57).
