An image of Benjamin Johnson b1892 in Liberia. Benjamin sailed to Liverpool on the Elder Dempster lines and walked from Liverpool to Cardiff with other men. He lived in Francis street in Cardiff and settled in Newport following the death of his wife Lily. He later married Martha and was known for his kind nature and great curries which were often served after the Whitson walk
