Albert signed for Merthyr Town in 1920 and went on to make 106 appearances and even managed a single goal as a full back. By 1923 he was at the Vetch Field where he made 78 appearances for the Swans. There was a short interlude at Worcester City before he was at Charlton Athletic for 3 season where he made 135 appearances with 1 goal. In 1932 he was at Walsall where he ended his career after 24 appearances and a goal.
