THE BLOCKADE. A CORK STEAMER SUNK. ANOTHER SHIP SHELLED BUT STILL AFLOAT.

Yesterday the London steamer Turnwell put into Milford Haven under her own steam in a disabled condition, and a patrol boat brought in the crew of the Manchester collier, Trafford. The Turnwell was outward bound, Liverpool to New York, light, and the Trafford, which also was light, was bound from Cork to Sydney.

On Wednesday afternoon, when the Turnwell was 30 miles W.N.W. of The Smalls, a submarine made its appearance. The Germans ordered the crew into their boats, after which they placed a bomb in the forehold.

The submarine then made for the Trafford, the crew of which, seeing the enemy approaching, took to the boat. The submarine sunk the Trafford by shell fire and then submerged. Meanwhile the Turnwell's crew seeing their vessel still afloat, again boarded her. They found her considerably damaged, but by means of the pumps kept the water down and managed to bring their vessel safely into Milford Haven.

When the Turnwell's officers revisited their cabins they found that everything of value and portable had been carried off by the pirates.
