This is not a photograph of the James Howell who founded the Cardiff department store. James Howell was my G.Grandfather and man in the photo is nothing like him and much too young. If you look carefully at the top of the image you can see it says Dr Howell which might be a clue to his true identity. Unfortunately this image has now been linked incorrectly to James Howell on several different other websites.
