The Bonded Stores

Description

The Bonded Stores was where the wine and spirits imported by the company of James Williams (Narberth) Ltd were kept "under bond' before duty was payable on them. The building was secured with iron bars on the windows and a dual locking system that could only be opened when two people - the Customs and Excise Officer and the Stores manager - were present. The building was in use until the 1990s as a warehouse and in 2012, after a major restoration project, was re-opened as a home for Narberth Museum.
