Inside the stores where Ray Gunn worked at Brittania First Line Servicing Squadron out on the airfield keeping the aircraft flying on a daily basis. This was located on the other side of the airfield and involved a two and a half mile cycle ride dodging taxi-ing aircraft along the way, sometimes through fog and darkness. Brize Norton airfield was the home of the Bristol Brittania, the Vc 10 and Belfast Squadrons.
