Julia Gunn's mother Moira was very ill in the 1980s, so Ray and Julia Gunn bought a house in Ceinws Esgairgeiliog. Ray was then commuting from Ceinws to RAF Valley and only coming home at weekends. One day Ray surprised Julia with a flying visit to Ceinws by a detachment from STCAAME RAF Valley on their way home from a day trip to RAE ( Royal Aircraft Establishment ) Aberporth. They all had a quick cup of tea and cake before returning back to RAF Valley.
