The crown of the Welsh Settlement's Eisteddfod
Description
The annual Eisteddfod played an important part in the social and cultural life of the Settlement. Members of the Welsh communities in Patagonia could compete in a host of competitions, which included writing prose and poetry, singing and recitation, and also arts and crafts. The eisteddfod continues to be held annually in the Camwy Valley and in the foothills of the Andes and it is one of many ways in which the Welsh language is promoted in Patagonia.
