Letter from Mihangel ap Iwan to his parents, the Rev. and Mrs Michael D. Jones, and his sister, Mair erch Iwan, 8 January 1897 [page 1, image 1 of 3]

Description

In this letter, Mihangel ap Iwan thanks his father for his letter acknowledging receipt of the money. Some time ago, he received a letter from his brother, Llwyd ap Iwan. Llwyd had been investigating the possibility of supplying Porth Madryn with water from Telsen. Once this task was completed, his intention was either to return to the Andes or to travel to Porth Aethwy. Mihangel explains that his land in Teca area is to be stocked with sheep, as soon as he can afford to do so. He says that they have not had a particularly hot summer so far and that locusts have caused considerable damage to the crops.
