Published from 1985 as 'Campaign Wales' and from 1991 as 'Heddwch', the supporter magazine for CND Cymru - the Welsh Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament has been published roughly quarterly to the present day, and is an invaluable reference and source material on community action Wales-wide in support of global peace and internationalism across 4 decades.
(NB - there are some disparities in numbering of publications, but they become more sequential from 1987 )

-Reykjavik and Star Wars by John Cox:
-Gorbachev and the USSR willing for disarmament at Reykjavik talks whilst Reagan only prepared for partial disarmament which would suit his Star Wars Programme (SDI).
-SDI a non-negotiable topic for US which derailed negotiations.
-Reykjavik did show disarmament is possible however

-CND Cymru Rally:
-Anita Gale speech urged crowd to elect Labour Party to ensure anti-nuclear policies.
-Gwyn Alf Williams criticised Gale for making rally a political opportunity before promoting Plaid Cymru. Williams added criticism of US administration and encroachment into British policies.
-Joan Ruddock urged CND members to lobby politicians to take anti-nuclear stance.
-Paul Robeson Jnr. expressed hope in Gorbachev appointment to lean to nuclear disarmament whilst stressing that the US was now the ‘villain.’

-Nuclear Waste Discovery in Teifi Estuary:
-Survey indicates radioactive waste from Sellafield in estuary. Recommendations made to council.
-Call for members to take action and protest.
-1st Anniversary Bunker Occupation:
-Picture: Labour Shadow Secretary, Mr. Kaufman
-Kaufman Refused Entrance to the £400,000 Carmarthen Bunker.
-Mr. Kaufman expressed sympathy and assured protestors that a labour gov. would not prepare for nuclear war.
-Kaufman requested that protestors not be taken to court but no action taken thus far.
-Mr Bugg and the Brady By-Laws:
-John Bugg is to come to Wales to advise peaceful protest tactics and methods.
