The 'Borough' guide produced by the Town Council and Edward J. Burrows & Co contained an advert for contains an advert for David Evans, watchmaker, jeweller and optician. The 'Aberystwyth Official Guide and Souvenir' published by the Aberystwyth Corporation in 1924, some 20 years later, contains an advert for the same shop. It shop sold a good selection of jewellery in gold, silver and pebbles at reasonable prices. Also silver plate and electroplate household items suitable for presentation. The shop sold necklets in real amber, ivory, jet, lapis, jade, crustal, as well as gold and silver watches. Spectacles and eyeglasses were also available to purchase after a free sight test.
