This large municipal cemetery was opened in the mid 19th century. It looks out over Swansea Bay from the slopes of Kilvey Hill above Swansea's dockland. Many of those interred here have maritime connections.

One of the cemetery's two derelict non-denominational chapels. Beyond are the heather-covered slopes of Kilvey Hill.

Some of the gravestones are monumental sculptures - works of art in their own right. Note the anchor on the tall monument on the right.

A small area of the cemetery is dedicated to Norwegian seamen. The gravestone marks the final resting place of Olaf Berg, born on 14 October 1901. He died on 30 June 1917, just 4 months before his 16th birthday - a tragic victim of the Great War.
