Celtic Cross Carew Pembrokeshire

This ancient 13 foot high Celtic stone cross overlooks the main A4075 road which runs through the village of Carew. The cross commemorates Maredydd (Meredith), the ruler of Deheubarth, who was slain in AD 1035.

The cross is richly decorated with characteristic Celtic interwoven scrolls.
