Notes: The church is a large single chamber with a west tower remodelled in the 15th century. Norman windows survive in each side wall. The eastern part is probably 13th century as it has windows of that period and of the 14th and 15th centuries. Bricks from the surrounding Roman fort are re-used in the east wall. All that survives of a late 13th or early 14th century southeast chapel is a blocked pointed arch in the main south wall (see photographs below).
