Image 1: My great grandfather, Elias Davies - carpenter and carver in front of his home and shop/workshop at 72 High Street, Blaenau Ffestiniog, c.1900-1910. He's shown with some Eisteddfod chairs that he created. He carved a chair, designed by his cousin Kelt Edwards, for the 1919 National Eisteddfod in Corwen.

Image 2 & 3: Letter written to Elias and his wife Elizabeth by his sister and brother-in-law encouraging them to emigrate with them to Ipswich, South Dakota.

Image 4: Photo of the family in about 1890. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had 10 children - 2 died in childhood.
