Saturday 4 June 2022 made for a memorable day in the Flintshire village of Hawarden (Penarlag). It was the time of a unique, nationwide celebration of the platinum Jubilee of our monarch's reign.

In the heart of Hawarden village, the day commenced with a rousing speech by community veteran, Lord Barry Jones in which he acknowledged a lifetime of dutiful service to The Nation by Queen Elizabeth II.

This event was organised by members of the local Rotary Club. Hawarden Dee Valley Rotary Club was charted in June 2019 and is the "newest" club in Rotary District 118. Membership is open to business and professional men & women who live/work in the area.
