Beam on back of weaving loom, Holywell textile loom

Description

This loom is for worsted cloth. The thread was so fine you would not notice it breaking, so, what were called droppers had to be put on each thread and when a thread broke the loom would stop, you would then have to check the droppers and immediately you could see the broken thread as the dropper would be lower than the others, you would tie a piece of worsted to the broken thread and pass it through to the front and carry on weaving.
