Description
Model of a Harvest Sled - Car Llusg from Mid Wales, measured from the original at Hunt's Court Farm, Dymock, Gloucestershire. Scale 1" to 1 ft. Such sleds were widely used on hilly terrain where a two wheeled cart may tip over when fully loaded. This type of sled was used for harvesting hay, oats, barley or for fern for animal bedding. The slightly lower end of the runners would be at the front going up hill and the rear whilst descending.
