Rhydybont: Home of the 'prostitute press' in 1846
Description
When Dan Jones, missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the 1840s, wanted to publish his writings - including responses to published criticisms from other ministers of the day - no press would print his work, except that of his brother, John Jones, minister at Rhydybont chapel. The Rev. Jones came under severe criticism for this assistance, his press derided as 'prostitute' for publishing the doctrines of the 'Mormons.'
