By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', chapel eisteddfodau, and the children's eisteddfod, such as this example. The Morning's President was Col. Delme Davies-Evans, D.S.O., D.O., Y.H., and the Evening's President was Lord Dinefwr (Dynevor), also the Lord Lieutenant of the County. The eisteddfod was accompanied by Piano (Perdoneg) and a Harp, and indeed a harp was needed for a number of competitions, including the verse singing. Among the competitions were solos on the violin and "mouth organ".
