Description
This shows the architect’s design for the original wooden encasement for the organ created by Harris and Harisson of Durham in 1898. Brass plate records: ‘To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Edward John Poole this screen was erected by his children 1916’ Since then it has been restored and reassembled by Hele & Co of Plymouth in 1936. In 1977 it was renovated again by David Balch of Cardiff (Cambrian Organ Building Co) when a new console was installed behind the choir stalls on the south side of the chancel.
