Lois Blake (1890-1974), historian and promoter of Welsh folk dancing
Description
Lois Blake was a pioneering promoter of Welsh folk dancing and first president of the Welsh Folk Dance Society. Although English by birth, after settling in Llangwm in 1930 she devoted her efforts to the revival of traditional dances. Her enormous contribution is recognized by the annual award of the Lois Blake trophy for folk dancing at the National Eisteddfod.
