View of the front of East Glamorgan General Hospital, about 1980. The Maternity department is on the left and the front entrance of the hospital is to the right of the trees. The hospital was completed just before the Second World War and was requisitioned by the RAF. It was used as a military hospital during the war by the RAF and Americans. After the war it became a civilian hospital coming under the auspices of the NHS when it was founded. After it was replaced by the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant it was demolished and became a housing estate.
