Jan became involved with Mencap Ceredigion in the early 2000s. Her daughter Bethan had a learning disability and they had recently moved back to the area from Cardiff.

Over time, as the older trustees left Jan was left running Mencap Ceredigion, something that has now become very much a family affair.
