Lewis Merthyr Colliery from Eirw bridge the day after the colliery closed. The area of the colliery yard nearest the camera is now occupied by the roundabout leading to the bypass which runs through that part of the colliery nearest to the railway line. The remainder of the area is occupied by the Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel behind which is Rhondda Heritage Park Museum.
