Stained glass window at Nantclwyd y Dre sketch
Description
Sketch of the proposed stained glass window in the hallway of Nantclwyd y Dre House, Ruthin. The design was proposed by Samuel Dyer Gough, the owner of Nantclwyd y Dre, in the 1940s. It features heraldic coats of arms of Prince of Wales with the legend 'Ich Dien', and the arms of the Gough family. An ink inscription underneath the design reads '1481 when the crest was made for William Gough of Chester', [William Gough was Sheriff of Chester in 1463].
The stained glass can still be seen at Nantclwyd y Dre.
