Harvest threshing day at Tal y Cefn Uchaf, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr 1916

Description

Threshing day at Tal y Cefn Uchaf, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr 1916. In the picture David Williams can be seen with his children and grandchild together with neighbours in front of the steam engine and the threshing machine
David Williams is standing in front on the right of the big wheel with a pipe in his mouth.
On his left is his daughter Elin and her husband Edward Roberts who had settled nearby in Hendre Glan Alwen, their eldest child Edwin is a baby on his mother's arm.
Also seen in the second row, third from the left is his son David Ellis Williams standing with a pitchfork on his shoulder.
In the front row, kneeling the fourth from the left with a pitchfork in his right hand on a dog in front of him is the youngest son Hugh Evan Williams who was 18 at the time.
Unfortunately we have no names for the maids on other neighbours in the picture.
It is believed that the threshing engine is from the Maerdy area, Corwen
