GEORGE III TIPSTAFF.
Description
A rare tipstaff made from metal and wood dating from the late 18th / early 19th century.
Tipstaffs are thought to have been created in the 14th century.
Even to this day, to denote their authority, high ranking police officers have insignia on their epaulettes, that shows an image of crossed Tipstaves within a wreath.
