Description
Alun Thomas is a farmer's son from Llanpumsaint who spent his working life driving milk churn lorries and bulk tankers for Unigate Johnstown between 1972 and 1986 and then Co-op Llangadog 1986 - 2001. He loved his job and speaks passionately about the lorry routes, the farmers, his roles and his informal role in delivering newspapers to remote farms. He was a key part of a large rural community. He speaks about the transition to bulk milk collections. He spoke with Anthony Rees of the Carmarthenshire milk stand project.
