Memorial Poems by Dewi Mai of Feirion for Marnine Gray Jones (born McNaughton) 24 May 1905 - 13 March 1933. Marnine was a talented musician and accompanist in the Dolwyddelan and Cwm Penmachno areas, accompanying bands and individuals in concerts. She died of tuberculosis when she was 27 years old, having given birth to three children. Her youngest daughter, Elizabeth May Jones, was born in August 1932, and she is the mother of the playwright and theater critic, Paul Griffiths. Marnine's father was born in Scotland, and had migrated to Dolwyddelan as a Keeper on the Gwydir Estate.
