There Are some Beetles (2025) is a series of poetic scores
written by Sarah Boulton, drawn from a correspondence with
Catrin Menai during her residency with The Mountain Jewel
Project in Eryri. Throughout their exchange, Sarah creatively
reimagined moments and overheard fragments from the
mountains and communities Catrin was working with—traces of
place and voice. These impressions were then translated by Esyllt
Angharad Lewis, and passed on to the dancer Misa Brzezicki,
who performed them into the glacial cirque of Cwm Idwal during
winter time.
