Introducing the Scarce Yellow Sally, 2028
Description
Introduced the Scarce Yellow Sally project to community members and staff at The Rainbow Centre, Penley. Presented film works in progress. Talked about the analogy being drawn between a fictious 22-year-old Sally in 1959 who is young, enjoys life: dancing and nature to Sally today who is 85 years who strives to be visible. This prompted discussion amongst staff and members about their own experiences and challenges. There is beauty in the natural world, yet it can also be cruel and unforgiving. Not only is nature cruel and unforgiving at times, but our society can be too – a main focus of discussion by the Rainbow Community was about combating isolation, invisibility that can lead to loneliness in old age.
