Major General Dornberger, a prisoner at Island Farm Special Camp following Second World War

Description

Major General Walter Robert Dornberger was the man behind Germany's V-2 rocket construction programme. Following his capture in 1945 he spent two years as a prisoner. He is noted as having been an unpopular inmate at Island Farm Special Camp.

In 1947 he accepted the post of consultant to the United States Airforce where he continued developing rockets. He died on 27th June 1980.
