Cae'r Gors, Kate Roberts' childhood home
Description
Kate Roberts was born in this small-holding, or 'tyddyn', in Rhosgadfan in 1891. Her father was a slate worker and his wife worked at home to make ends meet. For years, Cae'r Gors was unoccupied but in 1969 it was presented to the nation after having been bought by Kate Roberts herself, and later by a charitable trust. Today it is a heritage and education centre and a tribute to Kate Roberts' life.
